Health Equipment Loan Program (details about this program) This program is designed to help seniors stay independent while at home. We offer many different types of assistive devices including; canes, walkers, shower chairs and wheel chairs. All of the health equipment loaned has been donated to Silver Key. We accept donations of most clean assistive medical equipment, new or used, including, risers with or without arms, transfer benches and lift chairs. We regret that we cannot accept any oxygen equipment. Please keep the equipment for as long as it in use and then return it to Silver Key when it is no longer needed.
There is a one time administration fee for cleaning and storing costs.

Case Managers receive self-referrals from seniors and from agencies and community members concerned about seniors. Case Managers contact clients, assess their needs and desire for assistance and work to coordinate in-house and community resources to meet needs. Emergency financial assistance may be available for those suffering temporary financial hardships. Case Managers regularly assist clients in: accessing financial benefits from Federal, County, and local sources; maintaining or securing affordable housing; budgeting; accessing legal assistance; obtaining dental, medical and mental health care; obtaining physical aids including eyeglasses and hearing aids; nutritional counseling and planning for adequate food supplies; obtaining safety or adaptive equipment; and much more.

The Home Care department provides non-medical services to people in their home. Services include PCP care, homemaking, and companionship. The program is staffed by both full time and temporary home care givers who are committed to fulfilling the mission of Silver Key. We have over 400 active clients in this program and utilize a large base of volunteers to provide companionship, calls of reassurance, errand running and the presidential birthday letters. There is a 2 hour minimum for this service as well as an hourly fee.

The maintenance program is designed to help seniors with minor maintenance needs in their home and yard. Once the request has been received the work is scheduled according to priority and staffing. We also have a large group of volunteers that help provide maintenance and yard work to seniors. There is a per service fee to cover staffing and gas costs.

Guardianship Program
Silver Key's Guardianship Program provides comprehensive, personalized care management service and advocacy for individuals who have been deemed unable to make safe decisions for themselves by the El Paso County Probate Court. Through weekly visits Court Appointed Guardians get to know their individual seniors well enough to advocate for each person?s unique housing and personal care needs as well as their medical, social, and financial, and end of life desires.
Silver Key Guardians are individuals who have the education and the skill set to work with the wide variety of problems that beset our frail elderly. In addition, Guardians report to and have the support of the El Paso County Probate Court when complex, difficult decisions must be made.
