March 14, 2016, Colorado Springs, CO – Silver Key is pleased to announce that a new Golden Circle Nutrition site has opened at 1655 S. Murray Blvd. in the community space of the future Silver Key campus. The new dining space seats 75 people and has ample parking. Diners are required to make reservations by callingby 2 p.m. the day before dining. The suggested donation for diners aged 60 and over is $2.25. Guests under the age of 60 will be charged a fee of $6.50.
The Golden Circle Nutrition Program offers low-cost nutritious lunches to people 60 years of age and older, their spouses, disabled residents in a Housing Authority owned building where a meal is provided, and volunteers. It provided meals to approximately 2,100 seniors in 2015. Silver Key took over management of the program on January 1, 2015. The program is funded through the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments, Area Agency on Aging.
Silver Key is the leading senior serving organization in the greater Colorado Springs area and has been providing nutrition assistance to people 60+ since 1971. The Golden Circle Nutrition Program is one component of a larger Nutrition Department that also includes Meals on Wheels, two federal food assistance programs, a pantry program, and an emergency food pantry. More than 1,200 people are served through the Nutrition Programs of Silver Key every month.
