Older Americans Month – May 2018 Engage at Every Age!

May is Older Americans Month, a perfect opportunity to show our appreciation for the older adults in our community. For 55 years, Older Americans Month (OAM) has been observed to recognize older Americans and their contributions to our communities. Silver Key is proud to celebrate and recognize all seniors and especially senior clients and volunteers who have contributed so much to the Pikes Peak region’s culture, history and continued quality of life.

The theme for Older Americans Month 2018 –Engage at Every Age! emphasizes that you are never too old (or young) to take part in activities that can enrich your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It also celebrates the many ways in which older adults make a difference in our communities.

Silver Key recognizes that social engagement can improve the quality of life for older adults. Our programs serve as a portal to them remaining engaged and active, reducing their social isolation. We encourage the community to learn more about the ways to provide support for our senior neighbors by volunteering with Silver Key.
