For Affordable Aging in the Old North End

The Mikki Kraushaar Legacy Fund

Honoring a Legacy of Service

The fund honors Millicent E. “Mikki” Kraushaar, Silver Key’s first paid CEO and long-time Old North End resident. From 1971 through her retirement in 2004, Mikki led Silver Key’s growth into a cornerstone organization for older adults in the region. Her leadership emphasized dignity, access, and community-based solutions for aging.

The Mikki Kraushaar Legacy Fund carries forward these values by ensuring that affordability and access are not compromised by rising development costs.

How the Legacy Fund Works

Community and philanthropic investment are translated directly into deeper, longer-lasting affordability.

Initial target: $850,000

Purpose: Close critical financing gaps required to deliver the project responsibly

Funds raised beyond the initial target:

  • Directly reduce required Area Median Income (AMI) thresholds
  • Expand access for older adults with the greatest financial need
  • Strengthen affordability over a 40-year operating horizon
