Getting ready for your ride

Common questions

Is there a cost to ride?

To cover the costs of our transportation, we suggest a donation of $5 per ride. However, no one is denied service based on inability to pay.

The suggested donation of $5 per trip helps us continue providing this essential service. If your financial situation does not allow you to donate, rides are free of charge. The actual cost to provide each ride is around $25.

We accept cash, check (please write “transportation” in the memo section), and credit cards. You can pay when you ride, over the phone at 719-884-2300, through our website, or by mail to Silver Key, 1625 S. Murray Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80916.

When should I schedule my ride?

Plan ahead for the best options! We recommend booking your ride at least one week in advance. For the best availability and your preferred times, you can schedule up to two weeks ahead.

Same-day rides may be available for urgent medical needs, but availability is limited. Recurring trips like weekly appointments can be set up with a single call.

For medical appointments, we suggest booking as soon as you know your appointment date to ensure we can accommodate you. Remember that early morning appointments (8:30-10:00am) tend to fill up quickly.

What if I require ADA accommodations?

All vehicles are ADA accessible; however, some are specifically equipped with lifts to accommodate larger wheelchairs. Please let us know your specific needs when scheduling.

More questions you might have

Yes! We’re happy to set up daily, weekly, or monthly recurring rides for regular appointments or activities.

Absolutely. Just let us know when you schedule your ride so we can ensure space for everyone.

Please call 719-884-2300 at least 24 hours before your scheduled pickup. If calling outside our office hours (7:30am-4:30pm), you can leave a message with your name and cancellation date.

Late Cancellation and No‑Show Policy
Riders or their caregivers are responsible for canceling trips at least twenty‑four (24) hours before the scheduled pick‑up time. Failure to provide this notice will be considered a late cancellation.

A rider will be considered a no‑show when:
  • The ride is canceled when the driver arrives, or
  • The rider cannot be found at the designated pick‑up location
No‑Show Threshold and Progressive Suspension Policy
Passengers who have no‑shows equal to or greater than 25% of their scheduled trips within a thirty (30) day period will be subject to the warning and progressive suspension policy.

To be eligible for a warning or suspension, a passenger must have booked a minimum of three (3) trips in a calendar month.

Example:
If a passenger books five (5) trips in a month and no‑shows 25% of the time, they are in violation of the no‑show policy and will be subject to the progressive corrective action plan.

Progressive Communication and Corrective Action
Silver Key Reserve & Ride transportation services will provide the following notifications:
  • After one (1) late cancellation or no‑show: a notice letter will be sent
  • After two (2) late cancellations or no‑shows: a warning letter will be sent
  • After three (3) late cancellations or no‑shows that equal to or are greater than the 25% trips within a 30-day period: a suspension letter will be issued, and service will be suspended for two (2) weeks
