President and CEO Patricia Ellis Retiring from Silver Key
Patricia Ellis is retiring as Silver Key’s President and Chief Executive Officer since 2011. Under Pat’s leadership, Silver Key has grown significantly through the addition of the Silver Key Connections Café meal service, expansion of vital Silver Key Senior Assistance services, introduction of Silver Key Home Delivered Meals and increased use of Silver Key Reserve & Ride transportation services.
Working with the Board of Directors on strategic plans and factoring in community demographic shifts, Pat identified the need for a larger campus early in her tenure. She successfully communicated the opportunity to donors, partners, community leaders, and clients and turned plans into reality as Silver Key moved into their new facilities at 1625 S. Murray Blvd in 2015.
With a vision of making the Colorado Springs area the best in the nation to age, Pat led her staff in consistently delivering high quality services to seniors age 60+. Through partnerships with stakeholders, the Silver Key mission is to support quality of life for seniors—allowing them the choice of safely aging in place with dignity and independence.
Silver Key clients, staff, volunteers, and board members all appreciate the impact Pat’s leadership has had on the community. She leaves behind a legacy of impact, innovation, sound financials, and organizational plans to meet the needs of seniors now and into the future. “The community has benefitted greatly from Pat Ellis’s leadership and commitment to improving the quality of life for seniors. Her ability to create partnerships, lead staff and volunteers in providing service excellence, identify new opportunities, and determine how to fund the services required to meet the growing needs has been exceptional and impactful. We thank her for all she has done for Silver Key and our community.” – Carla Hartsell, Silver Key Board Member
