Silver Key to Kick-off Public Phase of Capital Campaign

Silver Key Senior Services will hold a cocktail reception on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 5:30 pm to formally kick-off the public phase of its capital campaign. Silver Key began a capital campaign in April 2015 with a goal of raising $5.5 million to purchase and renovate a new campus to meet the needs of the rapidly growing senior population in El Paso County. To date, the campaign has secured $4.4 million with just $1.1 million to raise and reach the final goal.

Silver Key made the move to its new home at 1605 — 1655 S. Murray on August 1, 2016, a year ahead of schedule because of the sale of its former home on Bott Avenue. Renovations of much of the campus are complete but until the final $1.1 million is raised, the last phase of the renovations will not take place.

The first phase of the project consisted of the building of an expanded commercial kitchen and dining space for Meals on Wheels and the Golden Circle Nutrition Programs, as well as community rooms for meetings and gatherings. That space was complete and open for business in September 2015.

Since 1971, Silver Key has provided vital services to seniors in our community, allowing them to live independently, with safety, dignity and respect. The new campus allows us to continue that legacy but from a welcoming, senior-friendly space with room to grow.
