Silver Key Partners with Atlas Prep for Internship Program

August 10, 2016,  Silver Key Senior Services and Atlas Preparatory School have entered into an agreement to provide internship opportunities for students from the charter school in the Meals on Wheels and Golden Circle Nutrition Program kitchen. Students will be involved in meal preparation, food service, and planning. This collaboration allows students to gain important job skills while providing much needed volunteer assistance for Silver Key.

There are currently three Atlas Prep students enrolled in the program. Under the direction of Silver Key chef, Jeremy Coleman, and with the assistance of kitchen staff, students are put to work, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. — 10:30 a.m. The unique partnership provides inter-generational experiences and job training. As the program grows, Silver Key will explore opportunities for additional types of internships in other areas of the organization.

Since 1971, Silver Key has been providing transportation, case management, and nutrition assistance to seniors in El Paso County, always focusing on independence, safety, and dignity.
