Robin Johnson, MD, MPH, FACEP.  Dr. Johnson has 30 years of medical practice and health care advocacy in the Pikes Peak Region of Colorado. She received her doctorate in medicine from the University of Colorado and completed an emergency medicine residency with Denver Affiliated Residency. She also holds a Certificate of Medical Ethics from Catholic Health Initiatives and a Master Public Health from The George Washington University. She practiced Emergency Medicine at University of Colorado Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs for 24 years.

Dr. Johnson served as Medical Director for one of the local safety net clinics, Mission Medical Center and then as Deputy Medical Director for the Colorado Springs Fire Department Community and Public Health Division. While with the fire department she co-led the development of programs aimed at systems change bringing the right care, at the right time and in the right place for many of the more vulnerable in the community. These programs have helped to define best practice in other communities across the nation as well.  Dr. Johnson then served as a Community Engagement Officer with El Paso County Public Health, navigating community understanding of the emerging opioid epidemic, substance use and overdoses, and depression with suicidality. She then moved to the role of Medical Director for El Paso County Public Health, helping our community to navigate several outbreaks, including the first 2 years of the COVID Pandemic. While with Public Health she was essential to collaboration cross-agency and cross-sector.

Her passion for emerging issues in health and advocacy has resulted in her becoming an “Upstreamist” and consultant, DBA Headwaters: Moving Upstream to Impact Health and Flourishing.  Additionally, she taught as Director for Community Engagement, University of Colorado School of Medicine, Colorado Springs Branch for 2 years and continues to teach as an Associate Clinical Professor. In her recent transition to Silver Key as Chief Health Operations Officer she will continue to use her skills within their leadership and services to assist in developing increasing integration of Silver Key and the fabric of health for the organization and members served.

Dr. Johnson has participated in various research and programmatic articles published in peer reviewed journals. She has and continues to serve on many local boards in the Pikes Peak Region and the state of Colorado.
