Silver Key is postponing the 50th Anniversary Engaged at Every Age Gala until 2021.

There are many defining qualities of the community of seniors we serve.  Primary traits are wisdom, resiliency, and adaptability.  The collective lifetime of knowledge, good judgment, and experience has influenced their lives.  The ability to recover from difficulties over the course of time has fostered resilience and determination.  Taken together, the older adults we serve and advocate to have proven their ability to be versatile and flexible.  Events over the past 110 days have been trying and at times spectacularly difficult.  After many weeks of positive headway against the virus, new cases are once again on the rise, and fears of a large spike or second wave have emerged around the nation.  It is because of those heightened concerns that on 6-30-2020, Governor Polis announced the re-closing of nightclubs and bars.  Governor Polis went on to say, “Colorado is currently a positive outlier and we want to keep it that way; so we can continue reopening rather than being forced backward at great economic costs and yes great costs in human life.”  Along with that announcement, he outlined indoor venue attendance guidelines that will be in effect for at least the next 30 days.

Indoor venues may allow the lesser of 50 percent occupancy or 175 people per confined space calculated using the Social Distancing Space Calculator, excluding staff, per room with a minimum of 6 feet of distance between individuals or non-household contacts.

Because of the broad enthusiasm for the Silver Key Gala and the expectation of several hundred attendees, the ability to accommodate as many people who want to attend in person is unattainable. Therefore, after much thought, careful deliberation, and out of the abundance of caution, we have decided to postpone our Silver Key 50th Anniversary Engaged at Every Age Gala to 2021.  As of now, the rescheduled date is yet to be determined.

Stay safe and stay healthy!
